PROBLEM
Teacher and front office find it time consuming, repetitive, and very disruptive to create hall passes and check student in.
SOLUTION
We designed a kiosk feature that allows students to create their hall pass and check in without constant monitoring:

CONTEXT
Over the past year, we noticed an emerging trend: our partner schools always asked when we’d offer a kiosk mode for common areas on campus, and many prospective schools were looking for ways to run Minga, without a 1:1 device program.
PROBLEM
A time consuming and repetitive process
Teacher and front office find it time consuming, repetitive, and very disruptive to create hall passes and check student in.
CHALLENGE
Creating a self-serve feature such as a kiosk could potentially open Minga to safety and privacy issues. Designing a reliable solution that prevent any tampering or access to private info is critical.
SOLUTION
Giving students more autonomy
We designed a kiosk feature that allows students to create their hall pass and check in without constant monitoring:
- Staff can customize their own kiosk by selecting what hall pass or check in is available
- Student can create and end a hall pass without disrupting the class
- Students are more independent and accountable
